Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger wants Abdulkadir Omur but faces Atletico Madrid fight

ARSENAL are reportedly interested in signing Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur.

Omur, 18, has been a regular in the first-team for Trabzonspor this season after breaking through last term. 

He has been deployed on the both the right wing and in central midfield, providing two assists in five Super Lig appearances so far. 

And his impressive displays have not gone unnoticed with and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid apparently interested in securing his signature. 

But former Trabzonspor coach Sadi Tekelioglu has revealed Arsenal are leading the race to sign him.

“I heard that Atletico Madrid are interested in him as well. 

“But Arsenal are ahead of them in the race to sign Omur.

“Arsene Wenger does a good job when it comes to discovering young players.

"Abdulkadir will be a success when he moves to Europe."

Abdulkadir is contracted to Trabzonspor until the summer of 2020.
