Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have no chance of winning the Premier League, says Ray Wilkins

Crystal Palace have had a dire start to the season, losing seven games on the bounce without scoring a single goal.

However, despite their shocking form Ray Wilkins thinks the Selhurst Park club have a better chance of staying up than Liverpool do winning the league.

The Reds suffered yet another slip up on Sunday, drawing 1-1 away at Newcastle and Wilkins believes Jurgen Klopp is deluded if he thinks they can still win the title.

"We've got Jurgen Klopp saying they're in contention for winning the league and they're seven points behind Man City,” he told talkSPORT.

Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has rude outburst at press conference

“We’re talking five points [from safety for Palace] and he's seven points behind Man City!

“For me they've got no chance of winning the league!”

And Wilkins’ opinion is echoed by former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland who is concerned Klopp is oblivious to the Reds’ defensive problems.

“If they keep defending the way they are at the minute they’ve got no chance [of winning the title],” Kirkland added.

“The goals they are conceding are far too easy.

“Going forward, yes, they’ve got the talent to score goals, but if they keep defending like they are, they’ve got no chance.

“Some of the goals they are conceding, they are not hard goals, they are lapses of concentration because players are not in the right positions.

“And the frustrating thing is it doesn’t look as though Jurgen Klopp is seeing that at the moment and, until he does, they won’t win anything.”
