Everton vs Burnley: Ronald Koeman's side are painful to watch, says Pat Nevin

Nevin was watching Everton lose 1-0 to Burnley at Goodison Park this afternoon.

The Toffees were defeated thanks to a first-half strike from Republic of Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick.

Everton have now won just one of their last six Premier League games and are languishing down in 16th with seven points from as many games this season.

Nevin was shocked by how unthreatening Koeman's side were going forward today.

“It is absolutely stationary ahead of the Everton midfield,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I am stunned.

“If you are a striker it doesn't matter if you get the ball or not you have to work your socks off.

“You have to create space for your partner or other players to run into the space you vacate.

Glenn Hoddle predicts Everton could 'push into top six'

“You have to do horrible miles for others.

“At the moment it is stationary and it is painful to watch these Everton players."

Ronald Koeman's side face a trip to Brighton next after the international break on Sunday October 15 (1.30pm).
