CHELSEA star Eden Hazard must step up in tonight's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, according to pundit Rio Ferdinand.

Hazard starts for Chelsea on matchday two of the Champions League in the Spanish capital.

The Belgian star has fully recovered from his broken ankle and makes his first start in the competition this term.

Chelsea won their first game against Qarabag 6-0 but Ferdinand is expecting a much harder test for boss Antonio Conte.

“They don’t come much harder than this," Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

"Going away, new stadium, fans are crazy over there anyway, they’re up for it.

"They’ve got some special talent in this team.

They’re so experienced and Conte we all know him as being good tactically.

"He gets his teams well-drilled, they’re efficient, but this is a huge, huge test for them.

Summer signing Alvaro Morata makes his first European start for Chelsea tonight, fresh off the back of his hat-trick against Stoke on Saturday.

Captain Gary Cahill is also brought into the starting XI.
