Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho should play Marouane Fellaini as a forward - Steven Gerrard
MAROUANE FELLAINI would be better off playing up front for Manchester United.
Marouane Fellaini provd to be a useful substitution
That is the verdict of BT Sport pundit Steven Gerrard.
Fellaini came on for Paul Pogba, who picked up a hamstring injury in the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel last night at Old Trafford.
The afro-haired midfielder made an almost instant impact, heading home United’s opener from an Ashley Young cross.
But Gerrard thinks Fellaini would be more effective as a forward.
“In the middle of the pitch, he never used to hurt you or harm you, you’d play against him all day,” Gerrard told BT Sport.

For United, if people get quality deliveries into the box he’ll score you goals
“You used to like playing around him, he didn’t really bother you.
“But for Everton as a forward, he’d back into you, people could run off and he’d be a right handful.

Mata: Manchester United's perfect start is just the beginning
Fellaini will be hoping his contribution will be enough to earn him a start against his former club Everton on Sunday (1:30pm).
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Chelsea thrashed Qarabag 6-0 while Celtic were on the end of a 5-0 drubbing by Paris Saint-Germain.
