Arsenal swept Bournemouth aside with a comfortable 3-0 win at the Emirates courtesy of two goals from Danny Welbeck.

Alexandre Lacazette was also on the scoresheet and seemed to strike up a strong partnership with the England international.

Alexis Sanchez was benched by Arsene Wenger for the game, despite being available after appearing for Chile in the international break.

And Welbeck thinks his two goals have now given Wenger a serious selection headache ahead of the Cologne and Chelsea games.

"We have had a difficult few weeks and we got the right result - but it has to continue,” Welbeck said.

"You have to be prepared and execute the gameplan.

“The early goal helped us along the way. We have got Cologne on Thursday and then Chelsea away next Sunday.

"It is a good headache for the manager to have up front with me, Lacazette, [Olivier] Giroud and Sanchez."

Arsenal take on Cologne in the Europa League on Thursday night (8.05pm) before an away trip to Chelsea next Sunday (1.30pm).

Sanchez is yet to start for the Gunners this term, while Giroud has continued in his substitute role which he grew accustomed to last season.

New signing Lacazette has settled quickly in north London, with two goals to his name.

And Welbeck has been the surprise package this term, with three goals in four Premier League appearances.
