Arsenal Transfer News: Germany coach rules out Julian Draxler deal

GERMANY coach Joachim Low says Julian Draxler will not be leaving Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer deadline.

Julian Draxler demonstrates deadly finishing ability for PSG

Draxler moved to PSG in January for £34million and made an impact in his first five months in Paris.

But his position has come under threat following the arrival of Neymar and his hopes of first-team football could diminish further if PSG complete a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

The change in Draxler’s circumstances has led to reports Arsenal could rekindle their past interest in the player with Arsene Wenger known to be a fan of the German attacker.

But Low insists PSG want to keep Draxler.

I know for a fact that Paris don't want to sell him

“I know for a fact that Paris don't want to sell him,” Low told reporters.

“They are convinced of his outstanding qualities.

“He made such a big step forward there.

“I am convinced that he will come out on top at Paris. By now, he's already playing a big role for us.”

Draxler has been mentioned as possible replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, should the England international leave but Arsenal legend Ian Wright is bemused by why he would want to come to the Emirates.

He said: “A club of Arsenal’s stature should be in and around the market, starting to find out who they should take.

“A couple of people are saying we should sign Draxler if the Ox goes.

“Why would Draxler, in this current climate, want to come to Arsenal?”
