Conte on loan system

02.30: Antonio Conte has defended Chelsea’s policy of loaning out numerous young players.

Chelsea have been notorious for sending out dozens of young players on loan over recent years.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham, Izzy Brown and Kurt Zouma have all been loaned out to Premier League clubs this summer.

But Conte suggests the players not currently with the squad were not ready to be heavily involved in the senior setup.

“If there are young players who deserve to play regularly and give me a good feeling, then why not [pick them]?” he said.

“I put Pogba, at 18, into the team, and for [Claudio] Marchisio. Not a ‘simple’ player. But you must have this type of possibility, [that these] players are ready to play with Chelsea, a great team, otherwise it’s very difficult to make this decision.”

Origi to Tottenham

01.00: Liverpool might consider selling Divock Origi before the close of the transfer window next week, according to reports.

Origi has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield with Daniel Sturbridge’s return to full fitness and Dominic Solanke’s arrival in the summer.

The Belgium international has made only one substitute appearance in the opening three games and wasn’t even in Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Hoffenheim earlier this week.

And the Telegraph claim Tottenham could be tempted into reigniting their interest in Origi, while Marseille and Anderlecht are also touted as potential suitors.

Jamie Vardy Chelsea latest

00.10: Everton are reportedly ready to rival Chelsea’s £40m move for Jamie Vardy.

The Leicester striker emerged as a surprise target for the Blues earlier this week with Antonio Conte keen to bring in support for Alvaro Morata.

But Everton are also in the market for a leading hitman to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku and The Mirror claim Ronald Foeman is hopeful of sealing a deal for Vardy.

Rob Green medical

19:21: Rob Green is to have a medical at Huddersfield Town.

Leeds are happy to let goalkeeper Green depart and the player is closing in on a one-year contract at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“We would like to sign Rob Green,” said Huddersfield manager David Wager after today’s 0-0 draw with Southampton.

“We have agreed personal terms and we have also spoken to Leeds.

“If he passes a medical, which he will hopefully do today, hopefully we can announce this signing in the next 24 hours.”

Liverpool set Coutinho deadline

18:50: Liverpool have set Barcelona a deadline of Monday to agree to their valuation of Philippe Coutinho.

Spanish radio station Onda Cero claim the deadline is absolute.

Liverpool don’t want to sell Coutinho but if Barcelona raise their offer above the current £118m bid then they may consider it.

Liverpool want time to sign a replacement, hence the deadline.

Reports claim Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches has been lined up to come into Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Liverpool not selling Can

18.35: Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is not for sale this summer, according to Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta.

“Emre Can’s contract expires in 2018 but Liverpool won’t sell him this summer,” Marotta said ahead of Juve’s Serie A clash with Genoa.

“I repeat Can is contracted with Liverpool.

“We know his contract expires but he is a player of Liverpool at the moment.”

Huddersfield want Green

17:56: Huddersfield Town are planning a deal to sign Rob Green from Leeds.

Green is Leeds’ reserve goalkeeper and is supposedly free to leave the club.

Town manager David Wagner wants more deals done before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Valencia owner at Man Utd

17:44: Valencia owner Peter Lim has flown into Manchester to get talks underway on a deal to sign Andreas Pereira.

United host Leicester this afternoon as they seek to extend their 100 per cent start to the season.

Singaporean tycoon Lim was last night in Paris to watch PSG thump St Etienne 3-0.

The owner is keen to sign Gonzalo Guedes and is now in England eyeing up Pereira.

Plaza Deportiva claim he will be at United’s clash with Leicester (5.30pm) and hopes his presence will help the Pereira deal along.

Sanches to Liverpool?

17.30: Liverpool target Renato Sanches skipped Bayern Munich’s game against Werder Bremen to weigh up his transfer offers.

"He asked the coach because he has some offers. The coach allowed it," Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky Sports.

"I can't yet confirm any conclusion."

Sanches joined Bayern last summer from Benfica and is under contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2021.

Coutinho's agent meeting

16:19: Liverpool will hold a meeting with Philippe Coutinho’s agent today as Barcelona seek to sign the player.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has asked to meet with Liverpool bosses today.

The purpose of the talks is to outline categorically that Coutinho wants to leave.

The agent will ask Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group to accept Barcelona’s latest bid.

Blues may pursue Mahrez - Merson

15.55: Chelsea are the only top team in the Premier League who will consider buying Riyad Mahrez before the transfer window shuts, says pundit Paul Merson.

Merson expects Mahrez to still be a Leicester player come the end of the window.

However, he reckons Chelsea may look to bring him to Stamford Bridge but only as a backup to star forward Eden Hazard.

“Liverpool have bought already, Arsenal have loads of them players, Man United no, Tottenham no, I think Chelsea no,” Merson said on Sky Sports of Mahrez’s potential suitors.

“Unless Chelsea buy him as another squad player.

“Then he won’t play but he’ll play when Hazard doesn’t play.”

Bale better at Real

15.45: Gareth Bale is better off at Real Madrid than Manchester United, according to Wales boss Chris Coleman.

“I think from our point of view my opinion is that La Liga, the tempo and physicality is completely different to the Premier League,” he said.

“Being selfish, he’s better off at Real Madrid. You work all your life to get  to the top, you don’t want to give that up.

"Where do you go from Real Madrid that’s better? There’s one or two clubs up there but none better.”

Sakho to West Brom

15:12: West Brom want to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.

Tony Pulis is seeking defensive recruits and may lose Jonny Evans to Manchester City.

And the Telegraph claim a £30million bid from the Hawthorns club is being considered.

Sakho is free to leave Liverpool after being exiled by manager Jurgen Klopp last summer.

He enjoyed a six-month loan spell at Crystal Palace last season.

Ronaldo unhappy

15:00: Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy at Real Madrid and wants ANOTHER improved contract to become the best-paid player in Europe.

Ronaldo only signed a new contract at Real Madrid and November last year.

Earlier this summer he threatened to leave Real over their perceived lack of support in tax fraud allegations made against him.

He has since withdrawn that transfer threat but tensions remain in the Bernabeu.

That is according to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claim Ronaldo isn’t happy with his wage packet.

The Portugal international is supposedly annoyed that Neymar is now earning more than him following the Brazilian’s £200million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

he also wants pay parity with Lionel Messi, who is expected to sign a new contract at Barcelona.

Remy to Spain

14:40: Clubs on the continent are queueing up to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy, if reports are to be believed.

Italian side Cagliari were said to be interested in Remy on Friday.

And now Spanish newspaper La Provincia claim Las Palmas are keen on the 30-year-old.

Remy is free to leave Chelsea after failing to make the grade under manager Antonio Conte.

Mustafi to Inter

14:30: Shkodran Mustafi has agreed to join Inter Milan, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Mustafi only joined Arsenal last summer but is free to leave the club for Italy.

Inter and Arsenal are discussing a deal, with the Serie A side keen on a loan move.

Mustafi cost Arsenal £32m last summer.

Juve and Barca talks

14:21: Juventus and Barcelona are negotiating a deal for Andre Gomes.

Officials from both clubs met at the Champions League draw in Monaco on Thursday.

Mundo Deportivo claim talks are underway and that Barca want £46m (€50m) for their midfielder.

Juve are unlikely to offer that much and could propose a loan deal with an option to sign.

Gomes, 24, only joined Barcelona last summer and is supposedly on Manchester United’s radar.

Aurier's Tottenham medical

13: 51: Serge Aurier has completed his medical at Tottenham ahead of a £23million move from PSG.

Sky Sports claim the medical has been done and that all Spurs need to do now to land Aurier is get his paperwork in place.

The Ivorian needs a work permit to play in the UK.

He was refused entry into the country last year when PSG played Arsenal in the Champions League because of an arrest on his record.

City better than United

13:09: Manchester City have a better squad than Manchester United after spending £80m more than the Red Devils this summer.

That is according to former Leicester striker Tony Cottee.

“It’s very hard to assess Manchester United at the moment,” Cottee said on Sky Sports.

“West Ham didn’t play well on the day, again Swansea didn’t play particularly well last week.

“They’ve done the business, two 4-0 victories, scoring goals, not conceding, looking a very strong team this year.

“I think they’re going to do very well Manchester United.

“But you look at the overall squad of Manchester City and it’s hard to argue that they’ve probably got the best squad.

“Then you look at who’s got the best team and then you could say perhaps Tottenham have the best team on paper.

“It’s so hard to judge teams early on.”

Man City can't get Messi

12:34: Manchester City will NOT sign Lionel Messi this summer.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, City director of football Txiki Begiristain said a €300m (£275m) deal was not on the cards.

“Messi is impossible,” he said. “He will stay at Barcelona in complete safety.”

LeBron James wants deal

12:18: LeBron James has reportedly asked Liverpool to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

In one of the strangest claims of the summer, Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim basketball legend James has waded into the transfer saga.

James has been a Liverpool shareholder since 2011 and Mundo Deportivo claim he has asked Fenway Sports Group to agree the sale of Coutinho.

James yesterday posted an instagram picture of himself in a Barcelona shirt with the caption: “Even the Shade can't stop my Shine!! Double entendre for y'all who can keep up!”

Real Madird announce Messi?

12:00: Real Madrid’s official twitter account was hacked this morning, with a tweet appearing to confirm the signing of Lionel Messi!

Barcelona are desperate to pin Messi down to a new contract amid interest from Manchester City.

And hackers The OurMine group, which also ‘broke’ Angel Di Maria’s move to Barcelona on twitter, targeted Real’s page.

They wrote “Welcome Messi” in a number of languages on Real’s official account, with a clip of him scoring against Real last season.

The tweet was later deleted.

Cameron on Coutinho

10:43: Geoff Cameron says he wouldn’t refuse a move to Barcelona if they came knocking, as Philippe Coutinho seeks to leave Liverpool for the Nou Camp.

“They still have £150m to spend. For me if I'm Coutinho you want to go,” Stoke defender Cameron said on 5Live.

“It's an opportunity you can't turn down.

“How often does Barcelona come knocking asking you to replace the likes of Neymar, or be an influential player?

“If he doesn't go it's going to be hard mentally knowing that the club kind of turned you down a little bit.”

Gibbs to Watford

09:25: Watford have agreed a fee with Arsenal for Kieran Gibbs.

But personal terms with the player are yet to be agreed, according to Sky Sports.

Jurgen Klopp eyes Hoffenheim’s Kerem Demirbay

8:30: Liverpool are interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay.

Demirbay was on the losing side as his Hoffenheim side were beaten 6-3 on aggregate by Liverpool in their Champions League play-off.

At the end of Wednesday second leg clash, Demirbay was spotted in an embrace with Klopp on the pitch.

And according to German newspaper Bild, the Reds boss is keeping tabs on Demirbay and have made him aware that he is a Liverpool type player.

Klopp knows all about Demirbay after the pair were together at Borussia Dortmund.

Asensio to Arsenal

07:00: Arsenal could make a sensational move for Real Madrid super talent Marco Asensio.

Los Blancos are under major pressure to give the Spanish sensation first team football after his stunning form.

But Gareth Bale and Isco remain ahead of him in the pecking order and the Gunners could now take advantage, according to Diario Gol.

Asensio’s buy-out clause is set tentatively low at £72m.

Willian PR disaster

04:30: Barceolona would be committing a PR disaster if they tried to sign Willian from Chelsea, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Although Barca have wrapped up a deal for Ousmane Dembele, Willian has emerged as an alternative with a move for Coutinho faltering.

But Castles thinks Willian moving to the Blues wouldn’t be good from a marketing perspective as he doesn’t fit the profile of player they are after.

“From a football perspective it makes sense to get Willian at reasonable price,” Castles told The Transfer Window podcast.

“From a PR perspective, which is the perspective Barcelona are working from, it doesn’t work for them because Willian isn’t a glamour player.”

Chelsea plan Barkley talks

03:20: Chelsea are planning to hold talks with Everton over a move for Ross Barkley this weekend.

Barkley, 23, has been sidelined for three months after tearing his hamstring during training.

But with the England international’s current contract at Everton set to expire at the end of the season, he has been attracting interest from Chelsea and Tottenham.

Spurs are the favourites to sign Barkley, but Antonio Conte is planning to hijack their move for him.

The Sun say the Blues plan on holding talks with Everton chiefs Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright following their clash this Sunday at Stamford Bridge (1:30pm).

It is said they are hoping to secure a £30million deal and are willing to pay him up to £150,000-a-week in wages.

Murphy on Sanchez, Ozil and Ox

02:10: Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should have never been allowed to run down their contracts at Arsenal - it is ‘scandalous’.

That is the view of Liverpool legend Danny Murphy, who reckons Arsenal should never allowed to let their star players reach this point.

“The big issue for Arsenal is the number of players who have been allowed to run down their contracts,” Murphy told The London Evening Standard.

“If they decide to dig in their heels, then (Alexis) Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere could leave the club for nothing at the end of the season.

“In the current market, Sanchez, Ozil and Oxlade-Chamberlain are probably worth more than £200million combined.

“From a business point of view, to let them reach this point is scandalous.

“No top club should allow any player they want to keep reach the final two years of his deal.”

Sanchez to Liverpool claim

00:15: Alexis Sanchez would chose to sign for Liverpool instead of Arsenal if he was given the option again, reckons Danny Murphy.

“When Alexis Sanchez had the choice in 2014, he decided to join Arsenal ahead of Liverpool,” Murphy told The London Evening Standard.

“If he had those options again today, there is a good chance he would go the other way.”

“Look at Liverpool in 2017. They are in the Champions League. They have increased the capacity of Anfield to 54,000 and there are outline plans to take it to 60,000, similar to Emirates Stadium."

“Liverpool seem to be on the way up, whereas I feel Arsenal are on a plateau — and if they lose Sanchez before the transfer window closes next Thursday, they will find themselves in an incredibly difficult position.”

Drinkwater lowdown

23:45: Leicester feel they haven’t received a suitable offer yet from Chelsea for Danny Drinkwater and they are looking forward to the transfer window closing, according to journalist James Sharpe.

Recent reports have suggested the Blues will launch a £32million bid for Drinkwater, although the Foxes are holding out for £40m.

And Sharpe of the Leicester Mercury claims the Foxes are relaxed about the situation, although they are worried he might have his head turned by the speculation.

“They are trying to keep him. They don’t feel any offer so far is worthy of the disruption losing Drinkwater would cause,” Sharpe told Football.London.

“They are quite relaxed about it as he has four years left on his contract and therefore would command a sizable fee.”

Coutinho to Barca in ‘coming days’

22:10: Barcelona are confident Philippe Coutinho will complete his move from Liverpool in the ‘coming days.’

Spanish publication Sport claims Barca will eventually complete the signing in a deal worth €150million (£139m).

Coutinho has already handed in his transfer request and is pushing for a move to the Nou Camp.

Jurgen Klopp insists there have been no developments on Coutinho regarding his future but behind the scenes their relationship has deteriorated.

Sport claim Coutinho has told the German he will not play for the club again in the hope Liverpool give into his demands.

Valverde talks Dembele

20:47: Ernesto Valverde can’t wait to work with Ousmane Dembele following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

"Dembele is a player who can carry the ball forward, which is something we've missed and we need,” he said.

"He can play on both sides, and has also played as a centre forward before. He gives us a lot of options, he's quick, direct and skilful.

“We hope he gives us a lot of things because we have a lot of hopes for the player," the Barcelona boss added.

"He is a player that generates excitement and hope and we expect the best from him. We're looking forward to knowing him personally but we think he is ready [to play for Barcelona]."

Omeruo extends deal

19:27: Chelsea have announced that Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has extended his contract until 2020.

He has also moved to Turkish side Kasimpasa on a season-long loan for a second time after spending the 2015-16 season with them.

Liverpool could sell Can

18:07: Liverpool could sell Emre Can if they sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

That’s according to Italian journalist Claudio Raimondi.

Raimondi believes the Croatian’s possible arrival could spell the end of Can’s time on Merseyside with Juventus keen to bring him to Turin.

“If Liverpool were to sign Kovacic they could sell Emre Can,” Raimondi told Premium Sport.

“Juventus are always in pole [position to sign him].”

Dembele medical

17:04: Ousmane Dembele will undergo a medical at Barcelona on Monday.

Barca have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund that could reach a club-record £138m for Dembele.

The 20-year-old will sign a five-year contract at the Nou Camp subject to his medical, which will begin at around 8am on Monday morning.

Coutinho worried about Dembele

16:34: Philippe Coutinho is worried Ousmane Dembele’s move to Barcelona will hit his own chances of a transfer this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

Barcelona have just announced the signing on Dembele from Borussia Dortmund for £96.8m (€105m) plus add-ons.

And reporter Solhekol said on Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre this afternoon: “Where does that leave Philippe Coutinho? Our information is that nothing has changed as far as he’s concerned, he still wants to go to Barcelona.

“But he is worried the Dembele move could affect his own future. We are told that Coutinho’s mood at the moment is very, very low.

“Coutinho is out of Liverpool’s game with Arsenal on Sunday, but Jurgen Klopp says he could still join up with the Brazil squad next week.”

Adam pens new Stoke deal

15:40: Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam has agreed a new one-year deal at the Bet365.

He tweeted: “Delighted to announce I have extended my contract with stoke for a further year.”

Mourinho not thinking of Zlatan

14:22: Jose Mourinho has refused to discuss the importance of Manchester United re-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He will not be ready for the group phase of the Champions League, I don't think there is any chance of that,” Mourinho said.

“I’m not thinking Zlatan to play any part of the group phase, hopefully he can play in the knockout phase but for that we need to finish top two.

“I don't want to think about it, I don't even ask, speak about it or with the medical team about it.

“He will be an extra man for us in the second part of the season. When I say second part, we say January after Christmas, when the transfer window reopens but I have no idea at all.

“It shows two things for me, it shows me the dimension of the player and the club.

“The player it would be very easy for him to say goodbye. He had success at Man United, goodbye. He doesn't do that, he wants to follow his other dreams and play football at the highest level.

“And a club like Man United in my opinion has to show how big it is in details and this is a big detail of a player that gets injured with the Man United shirt, fighting for Man United. The club has to be there for him and I'm really happy with club and player.”

Coutinho mood low

14.00: Philippe Coutinho still hopes to seal a move to Barcelona this summer, according to Sky Sports presenter Kaveh Solhekol.

Coutinho handed in a transfer request two weeks ago following a £90m bid from Barcelona.

Liverpool have maintained their stance that he will not be sold and are set to reject the fourth bid of £138m.

And Barcelona have now moved on to seal the Ousmane Dembele deal and he is expected to be announced as a Barcelona player this weekend.

But Coutinho hopes that that isn’t the end of his dream to play for the club this season.

“Coutinho hoping Barcelona signing Dembele doesn't mean they're giving up on him,” Solhekol tweeted today.

“Still wants Barcelona move. Told his mood is very low."

Conte on Chelsea deals

13:52: Antonio Conte says Chelsea are “working very hard” to sign new players ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

“For me it’s very important for me to continue to work and improve my players and my team,” he said.

“For sure the club is trying to strengthen our squad and our team, they’re working very hard to do this.

“You know very well the situation. You have to continue to work, if we stay with these players I’m very happy.”

Asked about a move for Fernando Llorente, the boss said: “I don’t like to talk about other players, I think it’s a lack of respect.”

And Conte was equally as flat when asked about Diego Costa’s situation.

“The same. No news,” he said.

Villa replaces Costa

13:30: Diego Costa’s transfer stand-off with Chelsea has already cost him inclusion in Spain’s squad for next week’s international break.

Costa has been omitted from the side that will face Italy in a massive World Cup qualifier on September 2, before a more routine game against Liechtenstein three days later.

Costa remains in Brazil and has said he will only return to Europe in order to complete a switch to Atletico Madrid.

Spain have included 35-year-old New York City FC striker David Villa in the squad instead of Costa.

West Ham to sign Carvalho

13:06: Arsenal are not interested in signing William Carvalho.

Arsenal are still open to doing deals with seven days of the transfer window remaining.

They have been linked with a move for Carvalho in each of the last two summer transfer windows.

But they will not rival West Ham’s supposed £37.5m bid for the Portugal international, claim football.london.

Turan to Man Utd

12:54: Arda Turan is free to leave Barcelona and Manchester United are keen on a deal, claim the Guardian.

Turan has failed to make the grade at Barca since joining them in 2015.

The Turkey international was supposedly one of the players Barca were hoping to use in a deal to sign Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

But the Reds don’t want to sell Coutinho nor sign Turan.

It is claimed United manager Jose Mourinho is an ‘ardent admirer’ of 30-year-old Turan.

Leeds United update

12:43: Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen says he wants to keep Stuart Dallas amid claims he could join Norwich.

Dallas has been linked with a move to the Canaries but Christiansen says the Northern Ireland star remains crucial to his plans.

"There is a lot of competitiveness in our squad and I need a player like Stuart Dallas,” the boss said.

Klopp working on late deals

12.30: Jurgen Klopp is still working on last minute transfers but says he is happy with his squad as it is.

Liverpool have signed three players this summer with Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson coming in.

But deals for top targets Naby Keita and Virgl Van Dijk have proven difficult to get over the line.

And now Klopp is also dealing with Barcelona’s interest in Philippe Coutinho.

“If and I said it a few times, the transfer window closes tomorrow, I am happy with it,” Klopp said.

“We work on it, as you can imagine. But this transfer window is different to all other transfer windows.”

Angel Di Maria to Barcelona

12:01: PSG must sell Barcelona target Angel Di Maria before the end of the transfer window to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play rules.

Angel Di Maria is Barcelona’s top alternative target if they cannot sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

Sky Sports claim Di Maria could be sold and that Barca are in place to do a £45m deal.

Rennes get Dembele cash

11:35: Ousmane Dembele will become the second-most expensive player in the world when he completes his move to Barcelona.

Borussia Dortmund have accepted Barca’s £138million bid for the striker.

Before Neymar’s £200m switch from Barca to PSG this summer, Paul Pogba’s £89m move from Juventus to Manchester United was the world transfer record.

Dortmund bought Dembele, 20, from Rennes for just £13m last year.

Rennes will earn a sell-on fee of up to £36.8m if Dembele heads to Barca.

Arsenal defender exit

11:13: Inter Milan hope a loan move for Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi can be secured by the start of next week.

Inter want to sign Mustafi and Arsenal are willing to let him go - even though the Gunners only bought the Germany international last summer.

Serie A giants Inter are keen on a loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season.

They are also in for Manchester City’s Eliaquim Mangala, who is available although City want to sell him rather than loan him out.

Coutinho to Barcelona

11:00: Philippe Coutinho is doing everything in his power to force through a move to Barcelona.

Liverpool are desperate for Coutinho to stay and have rejected his transfer request.

They have also snubbed Barca’s £118million offer for the Brazilian.

But neither Coutinho nor Barca are giving up hope on a deal with seven days of the transfer window remaining.

The Daily Mail claim that if Liverpool continue to reject Barca’s advances Coutinho will take the nuclear option and go to the media to express his desire to leave.

Barcelona have also agreed a £138m deal to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.

Chelsea eye Llorente

10:20: Chelsea are set to bid £15million for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

Llorente has been loosely linked with Chelsea for much of the summer and has not played a game for Swansea yet this season due to a broken arm.

The Spaniard is supposedly receptive to a move but Swansea want to keep him.

The Telegraph claim a bid will be lodged before Thursday, with Chelsea having already failed to sign Llorente in January.

Done Deal: West Brom sign Burke

10:00: West Brom have signed Scotland international Oliver Burke from Germany's RB Leipzig.

The 20-year-old winger joins Tony Pulis' squad on a five-year deal after featuring 25 times in the league last season for Leipzig, who finished runners-up to Bayern Munich.

Burke became the most expensive Scottish player in signing for the German side from Nottingham Forest for £13million in August last year.

And it’s believed West Brom have shelled out around £15m to bring him back to England.

"I feel like it is a time for me to move on and play more games," Burke said in a statement. "I'm here, I want to impress and I want my name to be first on the team sheet."

Ronaldo was keen on Man Utd

09:45: Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed a desire to leave Real Madrid - but would only consider joining Manchester United.

That is according to journalist Ian McGarry, who claims that while Ronaldo was open to joining Man Utd earlier this summer, a move is now off the table.

“Unfortunately, I do not see Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United,” he said.

“It is the only place he has indicated he would consider going to if he left Real Madrid.

“I think this [desire to leave] is just more posturing from the great one.”

Messi to Man City latest

09:15: Lionel Messi’s father Jorge has denied meeting Manchester City chief Txiki Begiristain to discuss a deal for the Barcelona player.

The Sun claim Messi Snr met with City’s technical director amid reports that the Etihad club are preparing a £275m bid for Messi.

But Mundo Deportivo have rubbished those claims, while Begiristain says the deal “is impossible”.
