LUCIANO SPALLETTI says he wants Antonio Candreva to stay at Inter Milan but admits Chelsea could make a move for him.

Midfielder Antonio Candreva's EPIC goals and skills

Candreva has been the subject of interest from Chelsea with Antonio Conte looking to find some late additions to his squad before the transfer window shuts on August 31.

Reports yesterday suggested the Blues were closing in on a £25million move for the 30-year-old.

However, Spalletti has revealed midfielder Candreva has shown no signs of wanting to leave the San Siro.

“My position is to keep him and the club agrees with me, for now he has not shown any other signals. We go forward calmly, then I don’t know what could happen tomorrow,” Spalletti told reporters.

“As far as I can tell, Chelsea could try to do something. You are the ones who always anticipate these situations, so I should ask you.

“You are very good at writing names in the papers and getting people swept up in it. I had fallen for it too this time, when you talked about Vidal and Sanchez, I was there staring at the gate to see if they’d walk in. Then I pinched myself.

“The truth is, I am happy with what I’ve got. I wanted to be the coach of Inter, four or five players have left and as many came in.

“Naturally, if you can get world class players, it provides an advantage because they are immediately ready to give results, but when you have great players who are just about to become world class, it depends on communication and how ready they are.”
