Chelsea boss Conte gives injury updates on Hazard, Bakayoko, Morata and Pedro

ANTONIO CONTE has provided an update on several Chelsea players ahead of their showdown with Tottenham on Sunday (4pm).

Morata misses penalty in Community Shield

Eden Hazard, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Pedro all missed last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Burnley through injury.

Meanwhile, £70million summer signing Alvaro Morata started the game on the bench and came on to score on his league debut.

And while Hazard and Pedro may not be available for their trip to Wembley, Bakayoko has a chance of making his first appearance for the Blues.

"Hazard is improving, but to be fully fit we must have patience and do the best for him," Conte said.

"About Bakayoko, he is improving very well he is not at the top of physical condition. But i think he can be in contention for the game, because I don't have another midfielder.

"Pedro has trained with us today, he had pain in his ankle.

"I don’t know if he is available on the bench. Bakayoko, his situation is not easy at the moment, it could force me to make a different decision.

Tiemoue Bakayoko could be in line for his Chelsea debut against Tottenham

"At this moment some players don’t have 100 per cent.

"Also Morata is another player to continue to work to.

"We have to find the right solution, I have to face a difficult situation. Bakayoko could be in contention, why not?"
