Chelsea outcast Diego Costa: Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho has called me this summer

CHELSEA outcast Diego Costa has revealed Jose Mourinho contacted him to see how he was following his exile from Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa: Conte told me I’m not in his plans anymore

The Spaniard has been told he has no future at Stamford Bridge by boss Antonio Conte and has not returned to training.

Costa is pushing for a return to Atletico Madrid but the Blues want to sell to the club who is willing to offer up the biggest fee leaving the 28-year-old's career in limbo.

Having helped fire Chelsea to the Premier League title last season the striker now finds himself back in Brazil with his family after refusing to return to Cobham to train with the reserves.

Costa has received plenty of sympathy for the way Conte has exiled him, particularly in the manner in which the Italian boss went about letting him know via text that he had no future with the club.

But one manager who did check to see how he was getting on was his former manager Mourinho.

"Jose has called me, direct to my phone, just to check I am OK and to see how I am," Costa told the Daily Mail.
