Arsenal may have signed the next Thierry Henry in Alexandre Lacazette - Martin Keown

ARSENAL star Alexandre Lacazette has been tipped to emulate Thierry Henry by Gunners legend Martin Keown.

Arsenal signed Lacazette from Lyon in a club-record £52million deal earlier this summer.

The north London giants have struggled for a blossoming centre-forward ever since Robin van Persie left for Manchester United in 2012.

Olivier Giroud has performed well at times but found consistency hard to come by, while the likes of Lucas Perez, Danny Welbeck and Yaya Sanogo have all toiled at the Emirates.

Lacazette has drawn comparisons with club legend Thierry Henry already due to his rapid pace and ruthlessness in front of goal.

Wenger has always wanted a striker in the Thierry Henry mould and he may have found that player in Lacazette

And Keown thinks he can prove to be just as big a hit as his compatriot.

“A goal machine,” the retired England star told the Daily Mail about Lacazette.

“Wenger has always wanted a striker in the Thierry Henry mould and he may have found that player.

“He will need time to settle in but Wenger will give him all the support he can.”

Keown also thinks that the Gunners can finish in the top four again.

Arsenal finished fifth last season - ending the campaign outside of the Champions League slots for the first time in 21 years.

But Keown thinks they have what it takes to regain their seat at the table of the Premier League elite.

“The Europa League will be a massive burden but I can see Arsenal reclaiming a place in the top four,” he added.
