Tottenham striker Harry Kane was beaming with pride after making it 11 goals in September with a classy hat trick in the 3-0 win against Apoel Nicosia.
The 24-year-old England international almost single-handedly broke Apoel's resolve and he has now scored 34 goals in 30 games in 2017, with this his sixth treble.
Kane said after the match: "It's a very proud night for myself and obviously the team as well.
"The first one was a close one, I'm not sure if it was offside or not but Toby's [Alderweireld] played a great ball in, I've touched it inside and I was always going to take it on with my left foot.
"The two in the second half, Moussa [Sissoko]'s cut back a great ball and in those kind of positions it's all about the touch and the touch was kind of perfect and that set me up and I stroked it home.
"The last one was an unbelievable delivery from Tripps [Kieran Trippier] and I made the run late into the box and I was happy to see it go in.''
It was the ninth hat trick of Kane's Spurs career, and he added: "I didn't know it was nine but I try and score every game and obviously it's a bonus when I get three.
"It was [a tough game], we weren't really pleased with how we played in the first half to be honest. At half-time we said we wanted to step it up, [and there were] a couple of chances in that first half that could have gone the other way.
"Even in the second half we came out, maybe weren't as aggressive as we wanted to be but we were more clinical at vital moments in the game and that's what you want to do away from home, especially in the Champions League.''
It was a depleted Spurs squad which travelled to Cyprus and Kane was pleased with how the stand-ins performed.
"Of course we're missing a few men back at home but the lads that stepped in today were fantastic,'' he said. "We've got a good squad, a solid squad and you've got to be ready. That's football, sometimes players get ill, players get injured, you've got to be ready to step up.
"We did that today, 3-0 away from home and no matter who you play it's a fantastic result.''
On his goalscoring form, the striker said: "I've got to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm still young, I'm feeling good, I'm feeling sharp so every game now I've got to try and do the same, try and help the team, run hard for the team and try and get the goals.
"That's six points out of two games and we've just got to push forward. We've got Madrid next and we'll look forward to that one.''
