West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur have each been fined £20,000 by the Football Association after admitting a charge of failing to control their players in last Saturday's Premier League clash at the London Stadium. Spurs won the derby 3-2, but almost squandered a three-goal lead and the home side were pressing for an equaliser in stoppage time when a melee occurred. Five players -- West Ham's Andy Carroll, Winston Reid and Andre Ayew and Eric Dier and Fernando Llorente of Spurs -- were cautioned by referee Michael Oliver. The incident, which prompted the charge that "both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion," came after a foul by Carroll. The visitors were under pressure after being reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes remaining when Serge Aurier received a second yellow card. The FA said in a statement on Thursday: "West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have each been fined £20,000 after they admitted an FA misconduct charge and accepted the standard penalty. "It was alleged that in or around the 95th minute of their fixture on Saturday, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion." Before the fines had been confirmed, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic said his club were ready to take their punishment. He told a news conference: "There was some pushing. The FA can't have grey zones, so we have accepted the charge."
