Mesut Ozil: 'I'm so proud to play for such a big club like Arsenal'

Mesut Ozil says Arsenal have made him a "bigger" player and that he is proud to play for the club, amid continued uncertainty about his future.

Ozil told a group of young Arsenal fans that his decision to join Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 was based on his desire to grow as a player, and that he has achieved that in the four years he has been at the Emirates.

"[I joined] because of the history, they had always amazing players, and because I'm here to learn, to grow up and to show my talent for this club," the Germany international said in a Q&A session filmed by Sky Sports.

"They have made me bigger, this club. I'm so proud to play for such a big club like Arsenal."

Ozil has yet to sign a contract extension and is free to talk to foreign clubs this month, with his contract expiring in the summer.

Fellow German Shkodran Mustafi also took questions from the youngsters, and joked that Arsenal may have to sell Hector Bellerin because he spends so much time on his hair.

"The electricity for his hair-drying, it takes so long, he's wasting too much money," Mustafi said. "They have to sell him, or he has to cut his hair."
