Giroud’s outrageous goal against Crystal Palace in January has been nominated for FIFA’s Puskas Award – recognising the greatest strikes around the world last season.

But Reds fans are convinced Moreno has gone one better with his moment of magic at Liverpool’s Melwood Park training ground.

Footage posted by the club’s official Twitter page shows the Spaniard passing the ball out wide before running into the box.

The cross then comes in but is behind Moreno, so he ingeniously shifts his feet before pulling off a sublime scorpion kick.

Manager Jurgen Klopp can be heard exclaiming “Oh my god” at the effort as Moreno jogs off with a huge smile across his face.

Fans were quick to comment on the video after it was posted yesterday (October 11).

“Joke how that man didn't make the shortlist for Ballon d’Or,” one user wrote.

Another added: “Best goal I’ve ever seen ever.”

While a third commented: “Shouldn't he be learning to defend rather that s*** like that?”

Liverpool may need such moments of brilliance if they are to overcome a rampant Manchester United at the weekend.

The Red Devils are unbeaten this season and have scored a staggering 21 goals in just 7 matches.
