Ferdinand travelled to Madrid for a chat with the Portuguese superstar ahead of the release of his Nike Mercurial release, The Chapter 5: Cut to Brilliance boots.

During a revealing chat, Ronaldo explained how he adapted to life with Los Blancos following his then-world record £80m switch from United.

The 32-year-old has gone on to write his name into the history books as one of the most prolific scorers ever, netting 411 times in 401 appearances for the club.

Four Ballon d’Or awards, four Champions League winners medals and a European Championship sit among his most impressive accolades to date.

But where does the 32-year-old see himself in 10 years time?

That’s the question Ferdinand posed – and he was not expecting the answer he received.

“In 10 years [the Ballon d’Or] will be tough,” Ronaldo said.

“Maybe I’ll do boxing – just like you.”

Bursting into hysterics, the former Sporting man flexed his muscles to prove his fighting chops, before adding: “No, I don’t want that.”

Reports from Spain this week claim Madrid club president Florentino Perez is reluctant to hand Ronaldo a new contract over fears he could be in decline.
