However, the German midfielder will not be back on their radar in January.

Can was an unused substitute as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Newcastle United at St. James' Park.

The 23-year-old is in the final year of his Liverpool deal but talks have failed to advance between the two parties.

But according to Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta, the Italian champions will not be the club to swoop for the player in the New Year.

Marotta told Premium Sport: "We don’t think we are going to make a big signing in January.

“Our team is absolutely competitive and we have some very interesting midfielders like Bentancur who has already showed his qualities.

"We have faith in this team and in these lads. As for Emre Can I don’t think Liverpool will sell him in January."

But the Italian outfit did attempt to lure him away from Anfield back in the summer.

"We made an offer for him in the summer but the Reds didn’t sell him so I don’t think they’ll change their mind in the middle of the season,” added Marotta.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player has made 94 appearances for the Merseyside outfit, scoring seven times.
