That’s according to Gunners great Martin Keown, who believes Arsenal are showing encouraging signs but still have a long way to go.

Arsenal claimed a convincing 2-0 win over West Brom at the Emirates thanks to a brace from Alexandre Lacazette.

But the game could have panned out differently had the Baggies been awarded a first-half penalty.

The traveling side also hit the post and had a great chance cleared off the line by Nacho Monreal.

Keown says Wenger’s side are improving but are still a long off the Premier League’s current top sides.

He said: “You have to say [it was] a professional performance from Arsenal - the referee played a major part and I'm sure Tony Pulis will have something to say about that.

“Arsenal picked up three vital points but they are some way behind the top two in the Premier League at the moment.

“There are little partnerships building in the team.

“Kolasinac looks really strong in this side. Ramsey is playing with confidence, Lacazette looks a threat and Sanchez is back in the team and looks happy to be so. That is a plus for Wenger.

“I didn't have any question marks over Sanchez tonight. He just loves to play football. He is a delight to watch.”

Arsenal face BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday night before hosting Brighton on Sunday lunchtime.
