Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have been blasted by Ian Wright

United dropped their first points of the season last weekend as the Potters claimed a 2-2 draw at the Bet365 Stadium.

Bailly and Jones failed to cover themselves in glory as Jose Mourinho’s side conceded twice.

And Wright didn’t pull any punches when discussing the pair.

Speaking on Radio Five Live, he said: “Players seem to be able to hide.

“People don’t take responsibility for marking a man.

“I’m watching Phil Jones the other day trying to mark (Eric Maxim) Choupo-Moting at a corner.

“It was embarrassing how easy he beat him. He didn’t even have anything (to score).

“And then I watched Eric Bailly in the same game.

“You’ve got (Darren) Fletcher on the ball with plenty of time, and he’s just ambling out.”

Eric Bailly didn't impress Ian Wright against Stoke

Jones and Bailly are suspended for tonight’s Champions League clash with Basel.

They’ll be replaced at the back by Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.

And United boss Mourinho has warned his absent defenders about the incoming Lindelof.

“Victor is a very good player with very good potential,” he said.

“And honestly, I think there are reasons for the other boys, Eric and Jones, to be worried.”
