The Manchester United boss is currently contracted with the club until 2019 but may be rewarded with an extension after a blistering start to the season.

The Red Devils have won each of their three league games this season, and are yet to concede a single goal.

Despite the campaign being in its early stages, the club's hierarchy will not want Mourinho to end this season with his long-term future in doubt.

And according to The Telegraph, he will sit down with the board in November to discuss a new deal.

Speaking in an interview this week, the 54-year-old admitted he was in no rush to discuss his future.

"I do not think about it," Mourinho told The Times.

"I don’t need a new contract to work to my limits.

"I don’t have a problem to arrive at the end of my contract and be free to decide what I want to do and the club free to decide what they want to do."

The United hierarchy, however, will be keen to tie down the Portuguese gaffer, who would be subject to significant interest if he were to leave Old Trafford.

His debut season at the club did not go to plan and despite lifting three trophies, Mourinho's men finished 24 points off eventual champions Chelsea.

However, both Mourinho and his players look rejuvenated this term and it is highly likely he will remain with the club beyond the two-year mark.

Something which his predecessors David Moyes and Louis van Gaal failed to do.
