Fitness coach Miguel Moreno will face the media today as the Newcastle boss continues his recovery from a hernia operation.

Benitez had hoped to be back on the training ground this week.

But he has been forced to delay his return after medical advice, putting his presence at the Liberty Stadium in doubt as his side go in search of their first away win of the season.

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce reckons Benitez should stop moaning about having just £35m to spend on summer signings.

The former Toon boss said: “He’s (owner Mike Ashley) openly stated that he has given Rafa all the money he can possibly give him that the football club generates. You can’t ask for more than that.”

Benitez was left angry at Ashley’s failure to back him in the transfer window.

That fuelled concerns among the Newcastle faithful that the ex-Liverpool boss would leave St James’ Park.

But despite the ex-Real Madrid manager’s uneasy relationship with the Magpies hierarchy he insists he’s loving life in the North East and the bond he has formed with the fans.
