That’s the blockbuster claim of TalkSPORT and Sky Sports presenter Jim White.
Starsport understand Chelsea are close to sealing a deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
They agreed a fee with Arsenal yesterday which could total around £40m.
But it appears the England midfielder would rather head to another interested party - Liverpool.
White wrote on Twitter: “Although @Arsenal and @ChelseaFC reportedly agree fee for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, source says player's preference would be @LFC.”
The Reds are keen on Oxlade-Chamberlain but haven’t lodged a bid.
Liverpool have wrapped up the signing of Naby Keita who will arrive next summer.
But they could decide to join the race for Oxlade-Chamberlain too.
He’s out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season and has refused to sign a new contract.
The midfielder was offered a package of around £150,000-a-week plus bonuses, but turned it down.
He could earn around £220,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.
