Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp struggled with the Philippe Coutinho saga

But he insists the club are determined not to sell to Barcelona and will reject a FOURTH bid for him should one arrive.

Coutinho remains desperate to move to the Nou Camp but with less than a week to go before the transfer window closes hopes of a deal are fading.

And ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Arsenal Klopp said the Spanish club’s relentless pursuit of Coutinho had made it tough going.

“I am not sure there was one easy day since we started pre-season, maybe the first day,” Klopp said.

“It was so long ago. Always something changes. All the discussions about Phil and then in the same moment Adam Lallana gets injured. It was like ‘What?!’

“I don’t think anyone can expect that we are prepared for a season like this.”

The La Liga club have been public about their pursuit of Coutinho with players and officials happy to comment on their efforts to lure him to Spain.

Liverpool told Barcelona not to bother calling back after they rejected their third bid of £119m.

But despite Barca’s brazen approach Klopp refused to criticise them.

“I don’t judge what other clubs are doing,” he added.

“To be disappointed about different things, you need to have expectations. I don’t have expectations, I don’t think about other clubs to be honest.

“We all have our own problems. If we think we have to do something, we do it.

“In this moment, I would have preferred we finished our business six weeks ago.

“Let all the rest of the world do what they do. It’s getting more and more different and difficult.”

Liverpool star Coutinho is struggling with a back injury and illness and will miss tomorrow’s Anfield clash but will join up with Brazil during the international break.

“If he goes there and can train, I don’t think he can, but they will decide,” Klopp added.

“It’s in the hands of the specific FA. They make their own decisions. Are we always happy with things like that? No, not always in the past.

“Sometimes players come back after a small injury, go to their national team and play two games. It’s the same procedure as always.”
