The Argentinian has been suffering from a persistent hip problem that has meant he has not appeared in a Spurs shirt since a 2-1 loss to Liverpool in the League Cup in October last year.
Such was his absence wild rumours circulated over where he might be.
But the man himself has emerged during a spot on Soccer AM this weekend.
In the clip the 25-year-old appears alongside Spurs team-mate Mousa Dembele to discuss FIFA 17 stats.
But fans were more concerned with Lamela’s existence.
“Holy s*** Lamela is alive,” wrote one fan.
Another added: “They found Lamela!”
“Who else forgot Eric Lamela existed,” commented a third.
With another chiming in: “Already seen more Lamela on this vid than I saw on pitch last season.”
It comes as star striker Harry Kane has called for the transfer window to be shut before the season starts.
