Emre Can has been linked with a Liverpool exit

That’s according to former player turned pundit Steve Nicol who reckons the German international is staying put.

Can’s current deal is up at the end of the season.

He was linked with a move away from Anfield earlier in the transfer window.

However, Nicol is adamant the talented midfielder will stay on Merseyside - predominantly due to the influence of Kop boss Jurgen Klopp.

“I don’t think he’s trying to force anything to be honest,” Nicol said on ESPN FC.

“I’m pretty sure he’s going to stay at Liverpool.

“I think the influence of Klopp definitely is the reason that I think he will stay.

“I think this will get done and certainly from a fans point of view, I hope Can stays.”

Can has become a crucial players for the Reds since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

The 23-year-old ace has racked up 90 Premier League appearances and bagged seven goals.

He also has 15 caps for Germany having taken his international bow in 2015.
