Steven Naismith feels he can do better at Norwich

The Canaries splashed a then club record £7m two years ago to take the Scottish striker to Carrow Road from Everton.

He returns from suspension against Sunderland tomorrow insisting he is finally set to prove it was money well spent.

Naismith said: “For a variety of reasons including injuries I have never really shown what I can do and I feel I owe it to Norwich to do that.

“Everyone at the club from the chairman down made it clear they wanted me here and so far the move hasn’t really been successful.

“But I came here believing I could help Norwich to move forward and now hopefully people will see the best of me. I’m fully fit and raring to go.”

The Canaries will have to manage without star midfielder Alex Pritchard, their £8m signing from Spurs, who has been ruled out for three months.

Boss Daniel Farke said: “He will need an operation on an ankle injury suffered in pre-season. It’s bad news because he is a key player for us.”
