That’s according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, who claim Florentino Perez has accepted the La Liga giants will start the new season with Keylor Navas in goal.

De Gea has established a reputation as one of the globe’s top stoppers since joining United from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.

And his performances have seen him rise high on Real president Perez’s wish list as he looks to build a team of world class players at the Bernabeu.

De Gea came close to joining last term’s Champions League winners in 2015 and they were expected to go back in for him this year.

However, it seems the 26-year-old may have ended Perez’s hopes of getting him on-board himself.

Don Balon say De Gea has made it clear he does not intend to quit United.

And for that reason he is apparently out of Perez’s reach - for this summer at least.

Don Balon suggest Thibaut Courtois would fancy a move to Real from Chelsea.

Zinedine Zidane has faith in Navas and is happy to keep him as his No.1 though.

And Perez has conceded that bringing in a replacement is not on the cards anytime soon.
