Barcelona have agreed a £109m deal with Liverpool for the signing of Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazil international has been backed to replace Neymar at the Nou Camp following the winger's world-record move to Paris St-Germain.

And according to ESPN, Barca have agreed a deal with the Reds.

They say the La Liga giants will pay an initial £81.6m with bonuses that could bring the total transfer fee to £108.8m.

ESPN add that a Barca chief travelled to Liverpool last night to finalise negotiations between the two clubs.

The news comes hours after Coutinho reportedly told Jurgen Klopp he wants to leave Anfield.

Liverpool are odds-on to sign Virgil van Dijk this summer, the bookies say.

The Southampton star handed in a transfer request yesterday in hope of forcing through a move away from St Mary's.

Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on the Dutch defender, 26, while Arsenal have also been credited with interest in the former Celtic star.

And BetStars say Van Dijk will most likely end up at Anfield, with the Saints key man desperate to work with Jurgen Klopp.

BetStars spokesman Ian Marmion said: “There appears to be another twist in the Virgil van Dijk transfer saga this summer after the Dutchman’s transfer request has invited the interest of a number of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

“Liverpool still appear to be the frontrunners in the chase and are odds-on at 1/2 to sign the centre-back this summer, with the Saints defender keen to play under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

“However, Antonio Conte is desperate to add depth to his Chelsea squad before the transfer window closes and the Blues are priced at 6/4 to nab Southampton’s star man.

“Arsenal are also in the market to sign a central defender after switching to a back three last season, and are priced at 18/1 to sign the Netherlands international.”

Liverpool have made a bid for Real Madrid's Marco Asensio.

The Real star impressed under Zinedine Zidane last season but didn't get regular game time.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol say the Reds have submitted an offer for the winger.

They add that Arsenal and Juventus have also made bids for Asensio, 21.
