That’s according to ESPN Mexico who claim they have been given information by someone close to the deal.

Barcelona are ready to splash the cash to replace Neymar who left for Paris St-Germain in a £198m transfer last week.

The La Liga giants have promised Liverpool they will pay £91m (€100m) for Coutinho and the finer details are being sorted.

That could happen today or at the latest tomorrow.

ESPN Mexico add that Barcelona want to unveil Coutinho as Neymar’s replacement on Wednesday.

Earlier today bookies Ladbrokes had Coutinho as odds-on to join Barcelona this month.

Punters have been piling in and that has caused Coutinho’s odds to join Barca tumble in the last 24 hours.

He was 11/8 to head to Spain yesterday and is 2/5 today.

Ousmane Dembele and Thomas Lemar are other targets for Barca boss Ernesto Valverde.

Callum Bunce of Ladbrokes said: "Barcelona's an attractive proposition for any top player and punters believe that Coutinho's move is looking more likely by the day.

“And the spending won't stop there as the odds suggest Dembele will be departing Germany for Spain sooner rather than later, whilst Lemar looks destined for North London instead.”
