Rafa Benitez made a flurry of signings in the last fortnight after a frustrating start to the summer transfer window, during which he admitted the club had missed out on their first targets.

But the arrivals of Jacob Murphy, Javier Manquillo and Mikel Merino eased fans’ fears ahead of the new season.

Despite the trio of signings, Benitez is said to be determined to add a striker to his squad to compete with current first team stars Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

And north-east based journalist Lee Ryder claims Arsenal’s Lucas Perez and Correa are on the club’s wish list with a month remaining in the transfer window.

Correa has been linked with a move to the Premier League on more than one occasion, with Liverpool said to have been close to a deal earlier this month.

The above footage demonstrates why he has been attracting such attention from clubs in England, possessing electric pace that could terrorise defences across the league.

And with a commendable record of four goals and eight assists from his limited first-team opportunities at Atletico, the 22-year-old Argentine could prove to be the perfect man for Newcastle.

However, fans are pessimistic about the club’s chances of forcing through a deal with Atletico’s current transfer ban giving cause for concern.

“I wish, he's one of the best young talents out there I'm sure he has better options but we can dream,” said one fan.
