The Kop insists he has not asked to leave Anfield, despite reports from Spain.

Catalan radio station RAC1 reported last night that Coutinho had spoken to Jurgen Klopp and expressed his desire to leave.

Radio Catalonia's Gerard Romero claimed earlier this week that personal terms had been signed.

He tweeted: “CLOSED AGREEMENT with COUTINHO.

“The FCB has everything tied up with the footballer.

“The club negotiates with Liverpool the transfer."

But the Mail say they have been told by Liverpool the transfer request claim is wide of the mark.

However they do say representatives from Barcelona have been in England talking to Coutinho's entourage about a move.

Their sporting director Robert Fernandez and lawyer Andre Cury held talks with the Brazilian in London prior to the Kop flying out to Washington on their pre-season tour.

Barcelona are thought to have had a bid worth £72m knocked back.

But Starsport understand they are expected to come in with a second offer worth £80m.
