IN DEMAND: Arsenal and Liverpool want Xhaka

The Borussia Monchengladbach star is a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool and the duo now look set to battle it out for him at the end of the season.

The Swiss star's current contract in Germany runs until 2019 and it's believed he could be up for grabs for around £37m when the transfer market reopens.

Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp are expected to compete for the 23-year-old's signature and can be boosted by his latest comments.

He said: "England is my dream. I do not hide it.

"Whether I’ll be happy there, only the good Lord knows.

"For me money is not important. Otherwise I would not move from Basel to Monchengladbach in 2012.

"It’s about being a big challenge for me as a footballer."

ON THE MOVE: Xhaka wants to move to England

Xhaka has played 23 games for Gladbach in all competitions this term, netting three goals as well as picking up three red cards.

Despite his tender years, he has already earned 39 caps for Switzerland, scoring six times, and could be a big star in the Premier League with his pace and power.

Arsenal have long been on the look out for a top quality midfield inforcer and Xhaka would fit that role while Liverpool are also keen on improving that position in their squad.
