Brighton have signed Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who has made two appearances for Louis van Gaal's side this campaign, will stay at the AMEX Stadium until May where he will try and help unbeaten Brighton's push for the Premier League.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "We have been keen to add a striker, and James has been our number one target for some time, so we are absolutely delighted to have completed the deal."

Liverpool youngster Will Marsh has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of January.

The 19-year-old has impressed in Liverpool's Under-21 team and Jurgen Klopp is eager for the midfielder to gain some first-team experience.

York City have signed Arsenal defender Stefan O'Connor on a one-month loan deal.

O'Connor, 18, made his debut for Arsenal during a Champions League tie with Galatasaray last December.

York have conceded 37 goals in 29 fixtures this term - the worst in League Two - and will hope O'Connor can help solve their defensive crisis.

Leeds have captured Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt until the start of January.

The former Chelsea trainee hasn't been used by either Dick Advocaat or Sam Allardyce this season and could make his debut against QPR on Saturday.
