SECRET TALKS: Marco Reus held talks with Arsenal over a possible move to the Emirates earlier this summer [GETTY]

The Borussia Dortmund winger has been linked with a move away from the Westfalenstadion on numerous occasions this summer, with reports suggesting that Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Dortmund have ruled out selling their talismanic winger several times this summer, but in a interview with German newspaper Der Westen club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke refused to rule out letting the club's prized asset leave the Westfalenstadion.

Watzke said: "We will have to wait and see whether we can keep hold of Marco.

"All I can say is that I know him really well and it’s not about money with him."

That news has come as a huge boost to the Premier League clubs, but it seems that one of the English giants are leading the race to sign the German international.

According to reports, Arsenal are currently the favourites to land Reus.

Spanish newspaper Vozpopuli claim that the German international held talks with the Gunners over a possible move to the Emirates earlier this summer, and that a deal was close to being agreed.

But the negotiations ended when the Dortmund ace severely injured his ankle in Germany's pre-World Cup friendly against Armenia.

However, Vozpopuli claim that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to resurrect the deal, and that he could make a move for the former Borussia Monchengladbach star within the next fortnight.

If the Gunners do move for Reus they will face stiff competition from German champions Bayern Munich, as well as Manchester United and Liverpool.
