Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has apologised for 'any upset caused' after a tweet was mistakenly sent from his account during Tuesday's Munich air disaster memorial service.
The England midfielder was present at the Old Trafford service, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the crash which killed 23 people, including eight players.
But just three minutes after a minute's silence was held during the service, a tweet was sent from his account in reply to a question over when he and team-mate Marcus Rashford were going to play FIFA 18.

The tweet, which he claims was sent by a member of his media team, read:'Your (sic) not ready for me.'
Lingard was swiftly criticised by United fans for showing apparent disrespect with the message, which was later deleted.
But on Tuesday night the 25-year-old moved to distance himself from the message.

He released a statement saying: 'A member of my media team inadvertently replied to a tweet this afternoon on my twitter profile during the Munich memorial service at Old Trafford.
'I was unaware as I was attending the service at the time, and don't condone the post or the timing in anyway (sic).
'The post has now been deleted and I'd like to apologise for any upset caused, this is totally unacceptable and does not reflect my personality or views on this emotional duty.'
