Riyad Mahrez remained away from the Leicester fold as Claude Puel's squad resumed training on Tuesday.
The club are mediating with Mahrez and his agents in an effort to bring the Algerian back into contention for Puel.
But sources have told Sportsmail that Mahrez was not present at Leicester's Belvoir Drive complex, a week after first going AWOL amid Manchester City's late £50million bid.
Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez has still not reported for training with his club
There are now doubts over whether the 26-year-old forward will even feature in Leicester's next game, which comes against Pep Guardiola's side at the Etihad on Saturday.
The former PFA Player of the Year has not reported for duty at Leicester since last Tuesday but club officials are taking a delicate approach and it is believed he might have been granted time away since deadline day.
Mahrez is said to have a fragile mental state following the collapse of his dream move and the PFA have offered assistance in the matter.

The rest of the squad returned to training on Tuesday morning having been given Monday off following the 1-1 draw with Swansea.
Puel was unable to pick Mahrez for that game at the King Power Stadium, as well as the deadline-day trip to Everton, and the Leicester manager gave an indication of the depth of feeling by admitting he did not know when the winger would be back.
'I expect nothing,' said Puel on Saturday. 'The most important thing is not to think about one player but to think about my team and my squad.'
There are now doubts Mahrez will be available for the game against City this weekend
