Arsenal are close to finalising an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang after moving closer to the £60million asking price.
The 28-year-old's pending arrival means Arsenal will allow Olivier Giroud to move to Chelsea should their London neighbours meet the 31-year-old's £35m valuation.
Chelsea discussed Giroud over the weekend as they are struggling to strike agreement with Roma for Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri.

While Arsenal's price is high, Giroud has the added bonus of being available for the Champions League and is already settled in London.
Dortmund did hold interest in Giroud also but are now considering Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi who also has interest from Sevilla and Roma. Batshuayi, who scored twice on Sunday, would be allowed to leave if Chelsea bring in another striker.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are reluctant to let defender Rob Holding leave on loan following an enquiry from Burnley.
