'It was important to remove all the doubts of the summer. It's more exciting to be here.

'It is very nice to hear people sing for me, now I will enjoy it with my family.'

Boca's win was their third in a row in the Argentine Superliga and extended the club's lead at the top of the standings to six points with 13 matches played.

Tevez came through the ranks at Boca and made his debut for the club at the age of just 16 in October 2001.

He went on to quickly establish himself as the club's leading striker before joining Brazilian club Corinthians in 2005.

This is Tevez's third spell in Boca colours - he played there between 2001 and 2005, and then again in 2015 and 2016 before moving to Shanghai Shenhua

Tevez moved to West Ham in 2006 and would go on to play for Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus before returning home to Boca in 2015.

He was enticed to China by the prospect of being the highest-paid player in the world, but scored just four times in 20 matches during an underwhelming spell in Shanghai.
