SIMON JONES: Liverpool are signing Falkirk teenager Tony Gallacher, the left-back once coveted by Barcelona, for £250,000.

Gallacher has been followed by Liverpool for over a year but Swansea City had been considered frontrunners for his signature prior to Christmas.

However, Liverpool s invited him down for training last week and he impressed staff suitably for an offer to go in.

Gallacher is expected to finalise terms on Friday

SIMON JONES: Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell's trial at Vitesse has been cancelled by the club.

The Dutch side confirmed in a statement: 'Because of organisational reasons, the trial of Jack Rodwell at Vitesse will not happen.'

CRAIG HOPE: Leicester will only sell Islam Slimani to a Premier League rival for £20million - and are now negotiating with Monaco over a loan move.

Sportsmail understands that the striker - who joined the Foxes for £28m in 2016 - would prefer to remain in England, but that will only happen if a permanent deal can be struck.

SIMON JONES: Inter Milan winger Joao Mario will arrive in London for a medical on Friday after agreeing to join West Ham United on loan.

Productive talks were held between the clubs on Wednesday after it initially looked like the move would fall through.

The Italian side have agreed to loan the Portugal international to West Ham for around £1.2million with view to a permanent £26million deal in the summer.

The 25-year-old has agreed on the move to the London Stadium after speaking with his agent and West Ham manager David Moyes.

Mario has over 30 caps for Portugal and won the European Championships with his country in 2016. He cost Inter £36million when he moved from Sporting Lisbon that year.
