Brighton have had bids turned down for Bristol City defender Aden Flint and Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Brighton are understood to have offered £6million for Flint, 26, and £8m plus add-ons for Mitrovic, who Newcastle value at £15m.
They have already brought in Jurgen Locadia for £14.1m from PSV Eindhoven and Viktor Gyokeres for an undisclosed fee from Brommapojkarna in this window.

Chris Hughton, however, believes he must further bolster his squad if he is to ensure his side avoid the drop this season.
Flint has been a stalwart at Bristol since his move there in 2013, while Mitrovic has played only a bit-part this season.
Hughton expects a hectic end to the transfer window, recently saying: 'It's not an easy window and that's why, looking at the Premier League, not a lot of business has been done.
'I'm sure there will be, but we have got used to these windows where the business is mostly done at the tail end of it more than the beginning.'
