Arsene Wenger insists Alexis Sanchez could feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday despite the Arsenal manager saying a move to Manchester United is 'likely' to happen.

Sanchez was left out at Bournemouth as his future remains in doubt, but Wenger could bring him back against the Eagles after he trained with the first team on Friday morning as a potential transfer to Old Trafford rumbles on.

Mesut Ozil is available following a knee problem and defenders Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal (both ankle) are also pushing to return but Olivier Giroud (hamstring) is not in contention while Santi Cazorla (Achilles) is a long-term absentee.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Mustafi, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal, Mavropanos, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ramsey, Ozil, Iwobi, Sanchez, Welbeck, Lacazette.

The Eagles were handed a blow this week with the news that Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek is likely to be out for much of the season.

Andros Townsend is closing in on a return to action much quicker than first anticipated, but West Ham a week Tuesday may be a more attainable goal than Arsenal this weekend.

Elsewhere, Jeffrey Schlupp (ankle), Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon and Connor Wickham (all knee) all remain sidelined, while defender Mamadou Sakho (calf) is still not quite ready to return.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Speroni, Ward, Fosu-Mensah, Kelly, Delaney, Tomkins, Van Aanholt, Souare, Wan-Bissaka, Milivojevic, Riedewald, Cabaye, McArthur, Lee, Zaha, Sako, Benteke
