Tottenham stars have enjoyed a night out in Barcelona to celebrate team-mate Eric Dier's 24th birthday.

Dier, who jetted out to Spain with the rest of the squad for a mid-season training camp on Sunday, took to Instagram to share a snap of him alongside Juan Foyth, Dele Alli, Erik Lamela, Paulo Gazzaniga, Hugo Lloris and Davinson Sanchez in a Barcelona bar.

The Spurs man accompanied the snap with a touching caption, writing: 'Thank you for all the birthday messages, enjoyed it with my second family.'

Dier's Tottenham team-mates pulled out all the stops and gave him the real birthday treatment by organising him a little surprise. 

Alli filmed a shocked Dier as he received an array of mini desserts with sparkling candles in the middle and posted it on his Instagram story.

The England international found it hilarious, laughing and clapping as the waitress presented them in front of him.

Alli also shared a sweet snap of the two friends posing in the bathroom mirror as Lamela wished his 'amigo' a happy birthday on his story.

Earlier on in the day the Tottenham players travelled to the High Performance Sports Centre of Catalonia to partake in a light-training session.

Tottenham's stars have decamped to Barcelona for a few days between league fixtures

Mauricio Pochettino, joined by his coaches, oversaw a range of drills, including stretching, running and other fitness exercises before the balls came out for passing training.

The full squad have decamped to Spain, with star players including Harry Kane, Alli and Dier all in action.

Pochettino, who wanted his players to build familiarity and enjoy each other's company while on the trip, will be hoping the break will revitalise his squad ahead of a busy second half of the season.

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points off the Champions League places, and are in the last 16 of the European competition.

They return to action this coming Sunday against struggling Southampton.
