The defender made a very brief appearance in the 1-0 New Year's Day win at Everton - where he was substituted on in the last minute - but will join Steve Bruce's Villa in search of regular game time.
Villa are fifth in the Championship and in the running for a spot in this year's playoffs at the very least as they sit just five points short of Derby in second.
The two-time under 21 Premier League winner is unlikely to play against Nottingham Forest, but could be available for a home debut against Barnsley next weekend.
Upon their return to England Tuanzebe will join Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season
