Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus stepped up his recovery from injury with a rowing session. 

The Brazilian suffered a medial collateral ligament injury during City's game against Crystal Palace before the start of the new year and is expected to be sidelined until February.

He was in attendance on Tuesday night as City came back from a goal behind to beat Bristol City in their EFL Cup semi-final first leg.

But prior to that game he spent time in the gym as he continues his recovery.


Jesus captioned up the video: 'When something bad happens you have three choices: let it set you back, let it destroy you or make it make you stronger.'

It was of note that Jesus had to keep his left leg straight and on the floor as he rowed, while his right rested on the machine.

City are in an advantageous position going into the second leg of their game against Bristol City.

They went a goal behind after John Stones conceded a penalty by fouling Bobby Reid, who converted the spot-kick.

Kevin De Bruyne then capped off a sensational move by the home side, firing past Frank Fielding after a pull back from Raheem Sterling.

And Sergio Aguero turned the game around in added time, heading home a De Bruyne cross to give City a 2-1 win.
