Alan Pardew will hold his first recruitment meeting at West Bromwich Albion this week and has admitted Liverpool’s Danny Ings is a player he admires.
Pardew wants to add to his strikeforce and Ings might be made available when the window opens due to Jurgen Klopp’s array of forward options.
Grzegorz Krychowiak’s future at West Brom is also set to be discussed when Pardew meets technical director Nick Hammond with the midfielder having fallen out of the first-team recently.
Danny Ings has emerged as a potential January transfer target for West Bromwich Albion
Krychowiak is on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain and his £100,000 per week wages take up a large portion of West Brom’s salary bill.
West Brom face Liverpool on Wednesday night so Pardew might get a firsthand view of Ings should Klopp give the 25-year-old more minutes.
Ings came off the bench against Everton on Sunday for his second Premier League appearance since October 2015 following two serious knee injuries.
‘I'd be foolish not say I don't like Danny Ings because I quite like him,’ said Pardew. ‘It's a shame about his injury – he's had to battle back and everyone wishes him well.

Ings recently made a comeback for the Reds and featured as a sub in the Merseyside derby
‘I haven't even looked at January this week because of the tight schedule of the games. But I have seen Nicky Hammond to pencil in a meeting to talk about that this week.’
Pardew admitted Krychowiak had been to see him after failing to feature in the past two games, following an underwhelming sequence of displays.
‘I haven't looked at his wages so I don't know but in terms of the group I've got here he has responded well in training, that’s all I can say at this stage,’ Pardew said.
‘I think everyone is knocking on the door at the moment because we aren't winning games. So if you aren't knocking on the door now we have got a problem.’
