  • Supporters clashed at the Amex Stadium and saw two stewards taken to hospital
  • The Premier League clubs will face each other in the FA Cup third round
  • Brighton and Palace have begun talks with Sussex Police ahead of the game
  • It is unknown if Palace will be permitted the full 15 per cent seating allowance

Brighton and Crystal Palace are already in talks with Sussex Police concerning their FA Cup clash after it was surprisingly moved to a Monday night for TV.

It comes after fan trouble marred their Premier League match last month as two stewards were taken to hospital following clashes outside of the Amex Stadium.

Brighton released a statement after the 0-0 draw, accusing some Palace supporters of being 'intent on causing disorder' as they also set off smoke bombs inside.

Sussex Police are now involved in talks with both clubs ahead of their third-round tie on January 8, to be shown live on BT Sport and with a 7.45pm kick-off.

It remains to be seen whether Palace will get their full allocation with them entitled to 15 per cent of Brighton's 30,750-capacity stadium, as per FA Cup rules.

Both clubs are likely to release a statement ahead of the tie in the New Year to warn fans that disorder will not be tolerated. The tie will also see Video Assistant Referees (VARs) trialled.
