Five men arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after clash between rival Tottenham and Crystal Palace fans near Wembley

Five men have been arrested following a clash between Tottenham and Crystal Palace fans on November 5. 

Spurs overcame their London rivals 1-0 in the early kick-off and there was and altercation involving two groups of supporters near Wembley Stadium after the final whistle. 

Police identified five men involved using CCTV of the incident in Empire Way which took place at around 3.15pm.

The Met's Central Football Unit then made the arrests at addresses in south London and Kent on Tuesday morning. 


Two men aged 21 and three others aged 24, 31 and 44 have been released on bail pending further enquiries.  

Police Sergeant Dave Hine of the Met's Football Policing Unit said: 'It is a priority for us to ensure that the public are not inconvenienced or alarmed by the behaviour of disorderly people either before or after football matches.

'Tuesday's arrests clearly demonstrate the continued efforts of police to identify and apprehend those who are intent on causing violence and disorder at football matches.'

A solitary Son Heung-Min strike had given Spurs the victory over the Eagles.

The return fixture between the two sides will take place at Selhurst Park on February 24 next year.
