No they can't. Jesse Lingard restores the two-goal advantage with three minutes to play. More here.
A cracking finale on the way at Vicarage Road too as Abdoulaye Doucare pulls another goal back with six minutes left. They couldn't... could they? More here.
What a comeback for Newcastle. I admit I thought they were well beaten after going 2-0 down but Matt Ritchie's ball into the box is turned by Jonny Evans into his own goal.
Troy Deeney pulls a goal back from the penalty spot. Read more here.
Heading into stoppage time in our two 7.45pm games, Leicester look like they have three points in the bag, while Brighton and Palace looks set to finish goalless.
Should have stuck with Vincent Janssen? Spurs should be level but despite Serge Aurier whipping in a fine cross along the six-yard box, Fernando Llornte somehow turns it over the bar. That's arguably worse than Eriksen's miss.
Well Erik Lamela isn't messing about, he's already made an instant impact as he tees up Harry Kane to pull a goal back for Spurs.
Mauricio Pochettino has seen enough of Eriksen after that miss and replaces the Dane with Erik Lamela in his final change having also brought on Fernando Llorente for Mousa Dembele.
It's Lamela's first appearance in 13 months.
It's just not Tottenham's night. A Son cross falls invitingly for Christian Eriksen inside the box but the Dane somehow makes a real mess of it by firing off target.
Maybe I was too soon to write off Newcastle? Ciaran Clark has given Rafa Benitez's side a lifeline after heading home a Matt Ritchie corner.
Slightly harsh on Newcastle who started the half well but the Toon look toast as Sam Field scores his first senior goal after converting an excellent Matty Phillips cross.
Another chance for Newcastle. Jacob Murphy's cross is half cleared to Mikel Merino on the edge of the box, whose 20-yard volley is brilliantly stopped by Ben Foster.
Newcastle are heading for a fifth straight defeat but have started well following the break. Matt Ritchie's corner finds Ciaran Clark whose header is glanced off target.
Still no goals in the clash at The AMEX Stadium, with Lewis Dunk flicking a Pascal Gross corner into the side netting.
It's been another poor evening for Spurs and as the hour mark approaches they make a change as Moussa Sissoko departs after another less than stellar performance to be replaced by Son Heung-min.
Talks of a Tottenham title push have loeked optimistic at best this season and any notion of one after tonight can surely be put to bed.
Or at least they should have been just now as Shinji Okazaki just misses out on making it 3-0 to the Foxes.
It may not be a great match, but West Brom have had the edge in it and in first half stoppage time they grab the lead as Hal Robson-Kanu heads in a Kieran Gibbs cross.

Half-chance for West Brom in what has been a rather poor first half as Hal Robson-Kanu gets his head onto a Hegazi cross only for Ciaran Clark's deflection to take the sting out of it as Karl Darlow saves.
Speaking of dream scores, Manchester United are absolutely cruising at Watford, with Anthony Martial on target. More here.
Tottenham are getting a hiding here, with Riyad Mahrez netting in stoppage time to give the Foxes what looks like a dream half-time score.

Brighton break on Palace but despite Anthony Knockaert finding Pascal Gross on the edge of the box, the midfielder's effort on goal is well saved by Hennessey.
Whatever Ashley Young had in his pre-match meal I want some of it as his free-kick doubles United's lead. More here.
What on earth is going on in the Baggies defence? Ahmed Hegazi beats his team-mate Ben Foster to a cross and only just avoids diverting the ball into his own net.
Cracking strike from Ashley Young against his former club... more here.
Chance for Spurs. Christian Eriksen leads a counter attack before feeding Dele Alli who sees his effort saved by Kasper Schmeichel before the ball eventually rolls wide. Spurs should really have scored there.
Newcastle have started confidently enough at The Hawthorns but there are still no clear cut chances in the 8pm game as Jacob Murphy fires off target from 30 yards.
Top save from Wayne Hennessey who does well to keep out a powerful Lewis Dunk header.
Nearly an instant response from Spurs but Kasper Schmeichel denies Moussa Sissoko before Vicente Iborra then clears off the line.
Brilliant strike from Jamie Vardy, and that's how you bring up 100 league goals! The England striker races onto a Marc Albrighton through ball before lofting a finish over Lloris.

The hoem side have also started brightly at the AMEX Stadium, with Jose Izquierdo seeing a shot blocked by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Off the line! Spurs are really struggling in these first few minutes as Wes Morgan gets his head on a Marc Albrighton corner only for Davinson Sanchez to hack clear off the line.
Leicester have started brightly against Spurs with Hugo Lloris called into action to save well from a 25-yard Wilfried Ndidi drive.

Ahead of their first meeting in the Premier League, plenty has been said about Crystal Palace's unlikely rivalry with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Indeed, there are 45 miles between the teams and no discernible reason for them to hate each other... but ask any fan of either side, and they will barely want to say the name of Tuesday night's opponents.
So let's fill it with Premier League drama instead!
There are four matches tonight to get the midweek drama underway so good evening all and welcome to Sportsmail's live coverage of all the action.
Tottenham Hotspur will hope to bounce back to form when they visit Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on a night featuring four Premier League matches.
