Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as surprise front-runners for Marouane Fellaini's signature should he decide to leave Manchester United when his contract expires next summer.
Sportsmail previously reported Fellaini could be heading towards the exit door after the Belgian had rejected an extension on his current new deal at Old Trafford, which sees him pocket £120,000 a week.
With Fellaini seemingly unsettled, the Belgian has naturally been linked with clubs throughout Europe and according to French news outlet Le10Sport, he is on the shortlist for Unai Emery's side, who is in need of a defensive-minded midfielder.
Marouane Fellaini has recently rejected a contract extension at Manchester United
The French agency claimed PSG are lining up an offer for the 30-year-old that would see him join the Ligue 1 side on a four-year deal.
With his future up in the air, Jose Mourinho is looking to persuade Fellaini to remain in Manchester, having initiated a mandatory one-year contract extension last year.
The lacking of a price tag will also be tempting for Emery's employers, given that they splashed out a world-record fee of £198million for Neymar, with a further £166m due to be paid to Monaco for 18 year-old Kylian Mbappe.
The midfielder has become a focal point in Jose Mourinho's side, with the United boss still hoping to persuade the Belgian to accept an extension on his current £120,000-a-week deal
Fellaini has remained a focal point in Mourinho's side, either side of a knee injury in October, and played the full 90 minutes in United's shock Champions League defeat at Basle on Wednesday night.
But despite Mourinho's faith in the midfielder, negotiations appear to have reached a dead end, with the Belgian looking more and more likely to leave in the summer.
Meanwhile Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain are readying a four-year contract for Fellaini
